At the Flooring Expert’s recommendation, I purchased a high-quality Berber carpet 8 months ago from 50Floor in Capitol Heights, MD. Last month I was shocked when I noticed that the carpet had begun to unravel in certain areas. I use the word “shocked” because my basement is not a high traffic area, and I don’t have children nor pets that could have attributed to this occurring. All I have done is an occasional vacuuming of the carpet. I contacted the local office where I made the purchase to report the issue and was asked to send an email along with photos of the damaged areas. I sent the email immediately and was informed that I would get a response once they heard back from the vendor. I received a response 3 weeks later via email stating that my claim was denied, and the damage must have come from pets or a vacuum cleaner! They also said my warranty doesn’t cover unraveling and there is nothing they can do to resolve the issue. 50Floor does not stand behind their product! These are horrible business practices that exploit their customers. This carpet was very expensive and sadly I’m left feeling ripped off!
